Venetia Howard’s real estate journey began in 2022 alongside her greatest expectation—her first child. When she and her husband learned she was pregnant, she decided to find a career that would allow her the freedom to watch her son grow and help other families find homes to watch their children grow and create lifelong memories.
In March 2023, Venetia began that career, choosing White Diamond as her launchpad. Let’s find out what she loves about real estate, White Diamond, and West Virginia.
I knew White Diamond was the right choice for me when I first met Melissa. She’s a very intelligent woman who not only supported me while taking classes but also empowered me to become the best real estate agent I can be!
What are your best qualities as an agent?
I am driven by my desire to take on new challenges and am always looking to learn new things. My mission as a real estate agent is to help inspire, connect, and empower buyers and sellers, one home at a time.
Waiving inspections. This can become a financial burden for the buyer in the long run if there is no inspection and then problems arise.
Accepting an unrealistic market price. Walking through the home and talking with the seller helps real estate agents gain knowledge about the house, and then a comparable market analysis can be created to determine a realistic listing price.
What advice do you give to sellers as they’re preparing to list their property or when they receive an offer?
Find an agent you’re comfortable with and who will be honest with you and guide you through the process so it’s as stress free as possible.
What advice do you give to buyers as they’re preparing to buy a home or make an offer?
When getting a pre-approval, talk with multiple lenders. Each lender is different and may be able to offer a wide range of options. Trusting your real estate agent is important as well!
What makes northcentral West Virginia a great place to buy a home and put down roots?
Monongalia County offers numerous jobs in Morgantown at WVU, Ruby Memorial Hospital, or Mon Health. And for those who aren’t a fan of the “city life,” Preston County, Marion County, and Taylor County are 20-30 minutes away and offer the option for a rural lifestyle.
What’s your take on Mountain State beauty?
My favorite thing about West Virginia is being able to look into the horizon and see the never- ending mountainous region.
I spend most of my time caring for my son and two fur babies, who love to go on long walks. I love animals and would love to be able to have a small farm!
Where do you see your career in 10 years?
I definitely see myself as a successful and career-driven agent who’s very involved in the community, and possibly having my broker’s licenses.
Would you recommend the real estate profession — and working with White Diamond — to others?
The real estate profession is great for anyone who is a people person and outgoing. We get to work with and meet so many amazing people! White Diamond has such an addicting atmosphere. I could spend all day just talking with everyone!
